The day after category one hurricane Earl roared through the Maritimes –
uprooting trees, laying waste to trailer parks and cancelling Saturday –
the final event of the Atlantic Xtreme Paintball League (AXBL) was
played.
The four man AX4 teams normally play matches on Saturday. The five man
AXBL teams play on Sunday. To finish the event on time and ensure that
everyone would make their flights home on time, AX4 games were
intermixed with AXBL and would be played on Sunday, all games were
shortened by 10 minutes and the All Star game was cancelled.

AXBL Event 3 Now in the Books
Hurricane Earl was still a category one when it made landfall on the
morning of Saturday September 4th, what was suppose to be the first day
of AXBL event 3. The event was postponed until the next day, giving time
for the field to be repaired and set up for Sunday.
The morning of Sunday September 5 dawned as perfect day for paintball. The small crew who had been hard at work the evening before were successful, Overkill Sportz, in Mount Uniake, Nova Scotia showed no sign of the chaos from the previous day.
To finish the event on time and ensure everyone would make their flights home on time, AX4 games were intermixed with AXBL, all games were shortened by 10 minutes and the All Star game was cancelled.

ATWL Event III at Mersey Road Paintball
The Mersey Road Predators woodsball team were on the attack against the
best woodsball teams in the region at event three of the Atlantic
Tactical Woodsball League (ATWL), at Mersey Road Paintball in Hubbards,
Nova Scotia on August 28th, 2010.
The Predators came into the day confident that they would be able to catch the league leading, defending champion Mersey Road Mercenaries and Team Anthraxx.
"There are some great teams in the league this year" said Predator player and field owner Jim Langlois "We will need to play our best paintball of the year if we want a chance to take the title."
The Predators played well all day but were unable to close the gap on the leading teams. Both the Mercenaries and Anthraxx maintained their slim lead in the standing, despite a strong push from the young Iron Legion squad.
The teams are so close in the standings that any team has the possibility to win. The final event will be needed to decide the 2010 Atlantic Tactical Woodsball League Champion.
Fire Island Paintball in Nova Scotia, is hosting event four in early October. The field will live up to it’s name, as the hottest woodsball action of the season will be played at the ATWL final.
