ATWL Event III at Mersey Road Paintball

The Mersey Road Predators woodsball team were on the attack against the best woodsball teams in the region at event three of the Atlantic Tactical Woodsball League (ATWL), at Mersey Road Paintball in Hubbards, Nova Scotia on August 28th, 2010.

The Predators came into the day confident that they would be able to catch the league leading, defending champion Mersey Road Mercenaries and Team Anthraxx.

"There are some great teams in the league this year" said Predator player and field owner Jim Langlois "We will need to play our best paintball of the year if we want a chance to take the title."

The Predators played well all day but were unable to close the gap on the leading teams. Both the Mercenaries and Anthraxx maintained their slim lead in the standing, despite a strong push from the young Iron Legion squad.

The teams are so close in the standings that any team has the possibility to win. The final event will be needed to decide the 2010 Atlantic Tactical Woodsball League Champion.

Fire Island Paintball in Nova Scotia, is hosting event four in early October. The field will live up to it’s name, as the hottest woodsball action of the season will be played at the ATWL final.

Tippmann Cahllenge Mirabel 2010

The eastern Canadian stop of the Tippmann Challenge was held on August 14, 2010 at Mirabel Paintball, just north of Montreal Quebec.

Six Tippinators made the 28 hour round trip drive from Halifax, to join over 1200 other players in one of the best organized paintball events in the country. To facilitate 1200 players, Mirabel joined all of their individual fields together to one large field. This made a multifaceted field which required repeatedly changing playing styles in order to be successful.

Though the game was played in the heart of Quebec, not all players at the game were French Canadaian. The Tipps were happy to play along side Glen Hogan, Sean Thompson and a crew from Paintball Paradise in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The Paradise guys, and gal, played a similar fire and move, highly aggressive style as the Tipps. Although the teams camefrom opposite sides of the country, they played like old friends.

Atlantic Tactical Woodsball League Event II

Atlantic Tactical Woodsball League (ATWL) season reached the half way point on August 7, 2010 at Overkill Sportz, Mount Uniacke, Nova Scotia.

Once again the Tippinators were asked to referee as the best woodsball teams in Atlantic Canada squared off in event two. The Mersey Road Mercenaries are again leading the league. The Mercenaries are looking for a championship three-peat, extend their lead and leave other teams behind.

The Tippinators covered the field and were privileged to watch some great paintball, played by some of the fiercest competitors in the sport.

At the end of the day, the Mersey Road Predators and Team Anthraxx closed the gap on the Mercenaries. With a race this tight the remainder of the season is guaranteed to have some great paintball.
